Senior Product Owner
Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Product Owner who brings strategic maturity to a deeply hands-on role. You will own the product backlog across 2–3 concurrent AI initiatives, working in close collaboration with the Product Manager — who sets strategic direction and actively co-manages the backlog at the roadmap level — and the Agile Program Manager, who ensures delivery excellence. You will operate across the full product delivery lifecycle: from story writing and sprint planning to leading product demos and measuring the adoption success of what your team ships.
This role demands someone who can hold context across multiple products simultaneously, make confident sprint-level decisions autonomously, and represent the product credibly in front of both technical teams and senior stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Backlog Ownership & Strategy Execution
• Own and maintain the product backlog across 2–3 concurrent AI initiatives, ensuring each is sprint-ready, well-prioritized, and strategically aligned.
• Collaborate actively with the Product Manager to translate roadmap-level priorities into epics, features, and user stories — sharing backlog management responsibilities at the execution layer.
• Write unambiguous user stories and acceptance criteria following INVEST principles and team Definition of Ready standards.
• Lead backlog refinement sessions, ensuring the team always has at least one sprint of groomed, estimated, and ready stories.
• Make real-time prioritization decisions within sprint scope, escalating roadmap-level trade-offs to the PM.
• Receive strategic orientation from the PM on business priorities and client context — and apply it independently to daily backlog decisions.
Sprint Execution & Increment Quality
• Participate in sprint planning, review, and retrospective ceremonies alongside the APM, bringing the product perspective to every ceremony.
• Accept or reject delivered increments based on defined acceptance criteria — no ambiguity, no deferred decisions.
• Monitor sprint-level risks and proactively flag scope conflicts to the APM and PM before they impact delivery.
• Define and maintain the Definition of Done across all active initiatives, adapting it as product complexity evolves.
Product Demos & Client Success
• Co-lead product demos alongside the Product Manager: own the product increment narrative, feature walkthrough, and technical depth; partner with the PM on business impact framing for executive and commercial audiences.
• Collect structured feedback from demo sessions and stakeholder reviews, and translate it into prioritized backlog items.
• Monitor product adoption signals and increment quality post-release, identifying improvement opportunities and feeding them into the backlog.
• Act as a visible, credible product representative in client-facing sessions — capable of defending scope decisions and articulating trade-offs clearly.
Multi-Project Management
• Maintain active backlog ownership and sprint readiness across 2–3 products simultaneously, without sacrificing depth on any individual initiative.
• Manage your own prioritization across projects, flagging resource or attention conflicts to the APM and PM proactively.
• Develop a strong working rhythm with each product team, adapting communication style and ceremony structure to the needs of each initiative.
Mentorship & Standards
• Contribute to establishing and evolving backlog management standards, story templates, and acceptance criteria frameworks across Creai's product portfolio.
• Support junior team members or analysts in understanding product ownership practices and Agile principles.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field. 6–9 years of experience in Product Owner, Senior Business Analyst, or equivalent roles in Agile software development environments, with demonstrated ownership of complex product backlogs across multiple concurrent products. Proven experience co-leading product demonstrations for executive or commercial audiences. Experience in B2B SaaS, enterprise software, or applied AI products is strongly preferred.
Required Skills
• Expert-level command of Scrum and Agile product ownership — capable of mentoring others, not just practicing it.
• Advanced Jira proficiency: backlog management, sprint tracking, reporting, and cross-project visibility.
• Exceptional written communication in English and Spanish — story writing, stakeholder updates, and demo narratives must meet executive standards.
• Demonstrated ability to manage backlog ownership across 2–3 concurrent products without losing depth or quality.
• Confident public presenter — capable of leading product demos in front of C-level clients and executive stakeholders.
• Ability to operate semi-autonomously: receive strategic orientation from the PM and execute independently at sprint and backlog level.
• Working understanding of AI/ML product concepts — LLMs, automation workflows, data pipelines — and their implications for scope, acceptance criteria, and user expectations.
Preferred
• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Advanced CSPO, or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager certification.
• Experience in consulting or applied AI environments where products are delivered for external enterprise clients.
• Ability to create low-fidelity wireframes or product mockups to communicate requirements visually. Proficiency in Figma or equivalent design tools is a plus; candidates with foundational design thinking skills and a demonstrated ability to acquire new tools quickly will also be considered.
• Familiarity with Miro or similar Agile and collaboration tooling.
What makes this role different
At Creai, the Senior PO is not a proxy for the PM or a Jira administrator. You will have real backlog authority, direct access to the development team, a seat at every sprint ceremony, and a co-presenting role in client demos. You will also work alongside an experienced APM who handles process logistics — which means you can focus entirely on what gets built, whether it meets the bar, and how it lands with the client.
